The Week: Advertising news - Federer stars in Nike TV ad

Nike has enlisted the tennis star Roger Federer to star in a series of television ads that see him reveal the secret behind his game: a fictional coach played by the Flight of the Conchords comedian Rhys Darby.

The first ad, which was created in-house, shows Darby firing balls at Federer to test his shots when he least expects it. Another execution opens on Federer in his kitchen receiving tips from his coach. But rather than helping to improve his backhand, the coach teaches the Wimbledon finalist how to use his racket as an air guitar.
