The Week: Advertising news - FTC reveals tighter ad laws

The US Federal Trade Commission has decided that advertisers and the celebrities who endorse their brands will be liable for untruthful statements made in ads. The new rules, which come into effect at the beginning of December, also state that any celebrity or blogger who endorses a brand must now explicitly reveal any compensation being received.
