The Week: Advertising News - ID card marketing blasted

The Conservative Party has criticised the marketing activity for the Government's ID cards scheme as a waste of taxpayers' money. The Identity and Passport Service is to launch a campaign, featuring animated fingerprint characters, to businesses this week. The activity will aim to build recognition of the card's appearance among those sectors the cards will be used most in, such as retail, finance and education. The consumer campaign will follow next year.
