The Week: Advertising News - Pot Noodle ad criticised

The Advertising Standards Authority has received ten complaints about Mother's recent Pot Noodle ad claiming that the parody of an 80s power ballad is sexist and portrays women as sexual objects.

One complaint said that the ad was "offensive and demeaning to women ... misogynistic and portrays women as sexual objects". The ad shows a fictional music duo called Steve and Digger singing a song that ponders why the women they love can't be more like Pot Noodles.
