The Week: Advertising News - Tech ads ignore women

Consumer electronics manufacturers and retailers are set to lose £600 million this year because they don't know how to connect with women, according to a report from Saatchi & Saatchi.

The research, called Lady Geek, found that 35 per cent of women would increase their spending if they were approached more effectively, and received more guidance in stores and on websites. The report added that almost one in three women do not consider technology advertising relevant, and the majority feel that brand owners and retailers neither understand what they care about, nor view them as a relevant group of customers.
