The Week: Advertising news - Which? rounds on ad ban

Which? is mounting further pressure on the Government to extend its ban on junk-food advertising to family-oriented programmes such as ITV's Britain's Got Talent and Beat The Star.

The consumer watchdog wants the ad restrictions, which were implemented in January, expanded from children's programmes to include family shows, that research has identified as having a high number of under-16 viewers. Ad restrictions are currently applied when there is a high proportion of under-16 viewers, rather than being based on the number of children watching.
