The Week: Brand news - BA sets seat-selection fees

British Airways is planning to charge passengers £10 for the privilege of selecting where they sit on its flights.

Passengers can expect to pay up to £60 extra for long-haul business-class seats, while people travelling to Europe will pay the added £10. Travel agents have been briefed on the new charges, which will come into effect on 7 October.
