The Week: Brand news - Tesco opens for downloads

Tesco is launching an online shop for video and music downloads.

The service, called Tesco Digital, will launch next month with 3.3 million songs available to download, and plans to add television shows and computer games at a later date. By the end of the year, it will be compatible with iPods and other MP3 players. Separately, Tesco reported that sales for the year ending 23 February were up by 11.1 per cent to £51.8 billion, and group pre-tax profit was up by 5.7 per cent to £2.8 billion.
