The Week: City news - Buyers line up for ITV stake

Four media companies have approached ITV about buying the stake currently owned by BSkyB that is currently under investigation by the Competition Commission.

In January, the Commission ruled that BSkyB should reduce its stake in ITV from 17.9 per cent to 7.5 per cent, to reduce concerns over restricted competition, resulting in an appeal by BSkyB. However, RTL, Endemol, Mediaset and the billionaire Haim Saban have approached ITV to buy the stake, according to reports.
