Herbert Hainer, the chief executive of Adidas, has labelled pressure groups "moralists who just emit rhetoric" after a call for the company, which is a sponsor of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, to take a political stance against the Chinese government. The pressure group Reporters Sans Frontieres has bought shares in each of the sponsors of the Beijing Olympics to give it a public platform during annual general meetings.
