The Week: City News - ITV takes control of GMTV

ITV has taken full control of the breakfast TV broadcaster GMTV, buying the remaining 25 per cent it did not own from Disney for £22.5 million. ITV is looking to make cost savings following the deal and is consulting with GMTV's 300 staff. It is unclear what plans ITV1 has for the programme or whether the GMTV brand will remain.
