The Week: City News - Trinity in paper sell-off

Trinity Mirror has sold 25 of its South-Eastern regional newspapers to Northcliffe, a division of the Daily Mail & General Trust, for £64.15 million.

The deal includes Kent Regional Newspapers, East Surrey and Sussex Newspapers and Blackmore Vale Publishing, which publishes the Croydon Post and the Surrey Mirror, among others. The deal is expected to conclude by 23 July. Trinity Mirror added that the sale of its Midlands portfolio, which includes The Birmingham Post and Coventry Evening Telegraph, should be finalised by the third quarter of this year.
