The Week: City news - WPP sells Mugabe agency

Separately, WPP has sold its stake in the Zimbabwean agency that was linked to Robert Mugabe's campaign for re-election as the country's president earlier this summer.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, the 25 per cent shareholding in Imago Young & Rubicam was sold last month for a nominal $1 (54p) to Sharon Mugabe, the majority shareholder and chief executive. Sharon Mugabe was behind the ruling party Zanu-PF's campaign for re-election in June, but WPP says it was assured she was no relation to the president.
