The Week: Media News - Brit TV exports on the rise

Revenues from overseas sales of British-made TV programming increased 25 per cent in 2008, with sales to Australia and New Zealand rising the most steeply.

Export sales of TV totalled £980 million last year, according to the UK TV Exports Survey, which is collated for the production body Pact. Sales to Australia and New Zealand rose by 65 per cent, but the biggest market continues to be the US, with exports rising 11 per cent to £350 million.
