The Week: Media news - Google mapping launches

Google has launched a tracking service, Google Latitude, which allows users to see where a person is located on Google Maps.

The opt-in service allows mobile users to share their location by inviting their friends and family to join Google Latitude. Once they accept the invitation, they can call, text, e-mail and instant message their friend by clicking over their profile picture on the map. The service offers directions to the person's location.
