The Week: Media News - INM eyes ad revenue rise

Independent News & Media has forecast a 5 per cent year-on-year increase in ad revenues for the first half of the year.

In a trading statement, the group, which owns newspapers, magazines and radio stations worldwide, said it expects year-on-year group revenue to have risen by 3 per cent and also to have seen a growth of 30 per cent in online advertising revenues. The statement comes as Tony O'Reilly, the group's chief executive, faces pressure from the shareholder Denis O'Brien to sell assets, including its flagship Independent newspaper, in a bid to boost share prices.
