The Week: Media news - News Magazines to close

News International is to close its loss-making magazines division, News Magazines, and is planning to sell its women's weekly title Love it!

Other titles, including the monthly paid-for title The Sunday Times Travel and customer magazine Skymag, will either be sold or moved within News International. The decision follows a strategic review of the News International business by Boston Consulting Group. It has also advised the company to appoint a chief marketing officer across the group - a position that could affect the responsibilities of Katie Vanneck, the Times Media sales and marketing director, and Roland Agambar, the News Group Newspapers head of sales and marketing.
