The Week: Media news - No appeal for Kangaroo

The backers of Project Kangaroo will not appeal against the closure of the proposed online TV venture after the Competition Commission's ruling that it would have been a threat to competition in the online video market in the UK.

The move will see 50 jobs, including the founders and freelance staff, being axed. Meanwhile, Channel 4 has announced that it will now launch a redesigned catch-up online TV service in March.
