The Week: Media News - Papers suffer reader drop

The Daily Telegraph and The Independent have suffered double-digit declines in readership, according to the latest National Readership Survey.

The Daily Telegraph had an estimated readership of 1.8 million per day in the year to September, down 10 per cent on the year. The Independent's readership dipped 12 per cent to 636,000, while The Guardian's fell 8 per cent to 1.14 million. The Times bucked the downward trend, rising 2 per cent to 1.8 million.
