The Week: Media news - Press Gazette to close

The Wilmington Group, the owner of the Press Gazette, the monthly trade magazine for journalists, has announced that it will close the title.

The final issue of the 40-year-old magazine will be published in May. The publication's six full-time staff are in consultation talks with the company, which plans to continue with events such as the British Press Awards. Meanwhile, the Press Gazette website will become an information resource for journalists, rather than carrying any editorial content.
