The Week: Media news - Sky to debut targeted ads

BSkyB is planning to launch targeted advertising around its service by 2011, the first time such a service will be available around linear TV in the UK.

The pay-TV company is developing what it terms targeted substitutional advertising, which will allow broadcasters to serve targeted ads to subscribers of Sky+, based on their demographic characteristics.
