The Week: Media news - TV viewing figures increase

Average daily television viewing stands at 3.54 hours, its highest third-quarter level for six years, according to the IPA's Trends in Television Viewing report.

The report shows that non-terrestrial channels continued to expand and now have almost a 40 per cent share of viewing. However, terrestrial channels fared less well, with Five's share of impacts down from 10.6 per cent to 10.1 per cent year on year and ITV's down from 30.8 per cent in Q3 last year to 27.6 per cent.
