The Week: People News - Bazalgette says 'no' to C4

Peter Bazalgette, the former chief creative officer of Endemol, has ruled himself out of the running to become the next chairman of Channel 4.

Bazalgette said that he had been called by headhunters but had turned down the approach. The broadcaster is searching for a new chairman to replace Luke Johnson when he steps down at the end of the year. It is also looking for a chief executive to replace the outgoing Andy Duncan. Reports suggest that Carolyn Fairbairn, the director of strategy and development at ITV, Caroline Thomson, the BBC's chief operating officer, and Josh Berger, Warner Bros UK's president and managing director, are in the frame for the role.
