The Week: People news - Grieve joins Travel Channel

Andrew Grieve, the UK ad sales director at Discovery Communications, is leaving the job to take a senior commercial role at the pay-TV broadcaster the Travel Channel.

Chris Shaw, the commercial controller at Discovery, will cover Grieve's responsibilities while a replacement is recruited. Discovery currently outsources its sales contract to Sky Media but this relationship is set to end at the close of the year. Rival media groups, including Channel 4, are pitching to handle Discovery's sales.
