The Week: People news - Livingston takes top BT role

Ian Livingston, the chief executive of BT Retail, is to take over from Ben Verwaayen as the chief executive of BT Group.

Verwaayen will step down on 31 May, and leaves the board on 30 June after six years at the company. Livingston joined as the group finance director in 2002 and became the chief executive of BT Retail in 2005.
