The Week: People news - Myers in local radio review

John Myers, the outgoing chief executive of GMG Radio, has been appointed by the communications minister, Stephen Carter, to lead an independent review of the regulations governing local radio content.

The Department of Culture Media and Sport said that the review "will inform the Government's thinking as it looks towards a digital future for radio". The appointment means that Myers will leave his post at GMG Radio at the end of this month, a month earlier than planned.
