The Week: People News - Unilever rejigs marketing

Unilever has axed three of its five top marketing positions as part of its One Unilever streamlining drive.

Jacqui Hill, the marketing director for home and personal care; Anuj Lal, the marketing director for ice-cream, and Lysanne Gray, the marketing director for chilled foods, are in discussions with the company about taking new roles. Paul Nevett, the marketing director for foods, and Matt Close, the marketing director for home and personal care, will share responsibility for Unilever's entire £200 million budget and report to the Unilever chairman, Dave Lewis. The company also plans to cut another 300-350 sales and marketing roles by the end of 2008.
