The Week: The Red Brick Road lands £10m Sky Networks account

Sky Networks has appointed The Red Brick Road to its £10 million creative account following a three-way pitch. The agency beat Bartle Bogle Hegarty and WCRS in the final shoot-out, after Sky shortlisted the agencies in June.

The business includes advertising for the Sky One, Sky Two, Sky Three, Sky News, Sky Movies, Sky Travel, Sky Arts and Sky Box Office brands.

Earlier this year, Beattie McGuinness Bungay, the incumbent on Sky One and Sky News, decided not to repitch for its brands. WCRS continues to handle Sky's corporate branding account.

The pitch was overseen by Alex Lewis, the director of marketing and communications at Sky Networks, and is part of an initiative to use the channels to drive subscriptions.

The company now plans to up its spend on promoting a wider range of programming, rather than focusing on promoting flagship programmes such as Lost and 24.
