– David Wheldon, the recently-appointed chief executive of CIA Medianetwork, has unveiled a new management structure for the agency which will see the departure of Alan Brydon, managing director, and a new role for Tony Kenyon.

Brydon is expected to leave the agency at the end of the month. His departure has been described as amicable and by mutual consent and he will not be replaced in the managing director role.

Instead, the day-to-day running of the media company will be overseen by four management heads: Tim Nelligan, head of broadcast, Andy Martin, head of non-broadcast, David Fletcher, head of planning and Andy Bolden, head of client servicing.

At the same time CIA Medianetwork's chairman, Tony Kenyon, is moving to a new group role as deputy chairman of the CIA UK Group. CIA's parent, Tempus, acquired Kenyon's IDK media operation in 1998 but since then IDK's flagship accounts such as the BT TV buying business and Heinz have left the group and Kenyon has become part time.

The restructure is the first major manoeuvre by Wheldon since taking over the helm of the ailing media company towards the end of last year. Sources suggest that the departure of Brydon, Kenyon and new business director Kevin Shute, who left at the end of last year, could save the agency up to £400,000 in pay.
