Wildlife charity creates film inspired by 'the cats of the internet'

Care for the Wild, the wildlife charity, has brought together some of the "cats of the internet" for a new online film to raise money for endangered lions and tigers.

The film, created by JWT London, features animated cats performing their own take on Band Aid’s ‘Do they know it’s Christmas’, which raised money for famine relief in Africa in the 1980s.

People will be able to buy the cat song, initially through Bandcamp and then through iTunes.

All the money raised will go to Care for the Wild.

Care for the Wild will expand the campaign through PR and social media activity, using the hashtag #CatAid.

Philip Mansbridge, the chief executive of Care for the Wild, said: "JWT have been the perfect partner in this project, having worked tirelessly to produce content that is playful and engaging.

"The campaign pushes the feeling of collaboration to make a change – which we love."
