Launching next week, JWT High Street will aim to provide brands with a better understanding of consumer behaviour in the retail sector, producing in-store activity ranging from store and packaging design to point-of-sale material and retail marketing communications.
Lever will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of JWT High Street, working with the leaders of the agency's other offerings, including JWT Experience and JWT Entertainment.
He joins JWT from Samsung, where he had worked as the electronics manufacturer's European brand director for the past six months.
Before that, Lever was the UK marketing director of Geek Squad, the technology troubleshooting service backed by The Carphone Warehouse. He has also been the head of marketing and communications for Apple UK and Ireland, as well as O2's head of consumer marketing.
Guy Hayward, the chief executive of JWT UK, said: "JWT High Street is the missing but very important final piece of the jigsaw in our integrated offering and Will is the right man to make it happen."
JWT launched its Experience offering earlier this year, appointing Matt Gorzkowski, the founder of the digital agency Play, to oversee the unit.
