- An online newspaper for women is set to launch next month, Unitedwomensvoice.com, offering a digest of daily news and highlighting issues directly affecting women.
The site intends to position itself apart from the current flux of women's portal sites that are flooding the market. It will aim to recognise every woman as an individual, and will hold regular sections covering business, health, politics, family life, and the environment.
The site will also offer a 'salary checker' facility, and a 'seeing red' column for venting frustrations.
Nicola Shepherd, former publishing director of dmg World Media, has been appointed as editor of the site.
Unitedwomensvoice.com founder and publisher Janet Weitz commented: "The website recognises the social, political and economic importance of the thinking woman and provides such women with an outlet where they can have their say without being marginalised."
