Woodward and Connell will work as a creative team across the whole of Karmarama's client base, including Wells and Young's, BT Plusnet and the recently won BBC business.

At VCCP, Woodward and Connell created the latest O2 campaign, "thinking of you", featuring a centaur character acting as the narrator in O2's fantasy world.

The pair's award-winning comparethemarket.com campaign starring the meerkat Aleksandr Orlov won two gold awards at the Campaign Big Awards in 2009.

They continued to work on Comparethemarket.com's campaigns, creating more recent spots such as "battle of fearlessness" and "Meerkovo", alongside Matt Lloyd, a copywriter at VCCP.

The pair have worked at VCCP since 2008, having joined the agency straight from Watford College.

Woodward said: "We are really excited about joining the Karmarama team. They are a great bunch of people with a fantastic client list and we look forward to helping them become the most interesting agency out there."

The appointment of Woodward and Connell follows Karmarama's hiring last year of Sam Walker and Joe De Souza as creative directors from Fallon.
