The World: Amsterdam - Talpa Radio International buys Radio 538

Talpa Radio International, the radio company owned by the Dutch media tycoon John de Mol, has bought Radio 538, The Netherlands' leading music radio station.

At the same time, Talpa Radio International has also announced that it will be selling its struggling music radio station, Radio Noordzee to De Persgroep, the Belgian media group that owns Amsterdam's regional daily newspaper, Het Parool.

De Mol is also currently involved in launching a general-interest TV channel in The Netherlands, which is scheduled to begin broadcasting in August this year.
