The World: Amsterdam - Telegraaf Media takes stake in ProSiebenSat.1

The Netherlands' Telegraaf Media Group will acquire a 12 per cent share in a new company that will be formed when the German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 acquires SBS Group later this month.

SBS is active in radio and TV in nine European countries, while ProSiebenSat.1 runs the German commercial stations Sat1 and ProSieben. It also has interests in pay TV, video-on-demand, mobile TV, internet and content production.

TMG owns De Telegraaf, the Netherlands' biggest national newspaper, but is faced with saturation in its domestic market and has limited interests elsewhere in Europe.
