The World: Bangkok - Thai tourist authority puts $80m task up for pitch

The Tourism Authority of Thailand, the country's largest advertiser, is putting its $80 million account up for pitch.

The contest is for the authority's international account, which has been handled by Dentsu. However, it is believed that the domestic assignment, currently with Creative Juice\G1, will be included in the brief.

Kitsana Kaewtumrong, the authority's head of international advertising, said the plan was for the winning agency to begin working on the business next year. The creative and media assignments are likely to be pitched together.

The review was sparked by senior changes at the authority after last September's military coup, which ousted the prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra.
