The World: Beijing - O&M promotes Tao to president of Chinese division

Ogilvy & Mather has appointed Raymond Tao, the vice-president of its Beijing office, as the new president of its China operation.

Tao first joined Ogilvy in 1993 as an account executive and has worked with a number of key clients, including Motorola and China Mobile.

He will initially play a dual role, overseeing Ogilvy Advertising's Beijing offering as well as leading the advertising discipline at country level.

David Mayo, the president of Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific, said: "We are fortunate that Raymond not only understands this rapidly evolving market, but thrives in it and has a strong track record of delivering results to prove it."
