The World: Buenos Aires - Argentinian adspend climbs 13.7 per cent

Adspend in Argentina increased by 13.7 per cent during the first half of 2009, new research has shown.

Spend on internet advertising saw the strongest growth for the period, increasing by 37.5 per cent, ahead of pay-TV, which grew by 35.2 per cent, and radio, which increased by 31.2 per cent.

Broadcast TV spend grew by 6.4 per cent and newspapers and magazines also performed strongly, rising by 15.7 per cent and 9.7 per cent respectively.

The increase in figures was attributed to the parliamentary elections that took place in June, with the "institutions, political and civil associations" sector posting growth of 147 per cent.
