The World: Chicago - Publicis launches mall TV advertising joint venture

Publicis Groupe and Simon Property Group, the largest public retail real estate company in the US, have joined forces to launch a high-definition digital advertising network targeting shoppers.

OnSpot Digital Network will offer advertisers content and advertising on nearly 2,000 HD screens at 50 shopping malls in a number of US cities.

The 50-50 venture was devised by the Publicis chairman and chief executive, Maurice Levy (pictured), and David Simon, SPG's chief executive.

Simon Badinter, the chairman and chief executive of Publicis' Medias & Regies Europe and North America, and Stewart Stockdale, the chief marketing officer of SPG, will head the project.
