The World: Dallas - Zales moves $60m creative to Richards Group

The US jewellery retailer Zales has moved its $60 million creative, media planning and buying account from Publicis to the Dallas-based independent agency The Richards Group.

The agency hired the Texan advertising veteran Liener Temerlin as a consultant in a bid to win the account. Stan Richards, a partner at the Richards Group, said: "(Temerlin) was a valuable contributor in our discussions with Zales and will be a continuing part of the relationship." The Richards Group's first assignment will be to help rebrand the jewellers, after which it will start producing creative work.

Zales, the flagship store chain of the Zale Corp, had 765 stores and a turnover of $1.1 billion in 2004.
