The World: Dublin - Associated plans launch for Irish version of Daily Mail

The newspaper publisher Associated Newspapers is launching an Irish version of the Daily Mail.

The paper will be aimed at women aged under 35 and will be launched in direct competition with the Irish Independent, owned by Independent News & Media.

The UK edition of the Daily Mail is currently printed and sold in Ireland. It has a circulation of around 10,000.

The new Irish edition will have more Irish-focused news, comment and features and will have an initial circulation of around 50,000.
