Starbucks - Double Shot Fallon US
Meet Glen. He's the man. He's got the right tie, the requisite quota of ambition and the super-visor's position within his grasp. And, thanks to his Starbucks Double Shot Espresso as the linchpin of his morning ritual, the band Survivor to sing his praises to the tune of their big hit, Eye of the Tiger. The ageing rockers appear in Glen's flat as soon as he takes a swig from his can of coffee and follow him to work, continuing their paen to the middle manager as he waits for a bus and takes the lift to his office.

Optimus - BBDO Portugal
Apparently reducing a Portuguese TV audience to tears, "chain", the new ad for the mobile phone company Optimus, tells the story of a cross-section of society brought together by the plight of a beached whale. The ad illustrates that a picture message can travel as far and wide as an off-colour e-mail. Drawn together by a photo of the impending cetacean tragedy, a rag-tag band of teachers, housewives and businessmen - presumably selected for their super-human strength - congregate on the beach and, together, manage to push the humpback whale (average weight, 45 tonnes, according to Google) back into deep water.

Map Studio Street Guide - Ogilvy & Mather South Africa
Ever wandered round London clutching an A-to-Z in one hand wondering where the dinner party you're two hours late for is? Princes Avenue? Which Princes Avenue? There's hundreds of them. The South African publication Map Studio Street Guide has solved the problem of flicking through the never-ending pages of the index by sponsoring a series of new street signs in Johannesburg and including the page and square reference on the sign. Simple, really.
