The World: Jakarta - Ogilvy's Tan poached by Lowe to replace Modesto

Lowe Indonesia has poached Joseph Tan from Ogilvy Advertising Indonesia to fill the role of country head.

Tan is currently the managing director of Ogilvy Advertising Indonesia. He will replace the former country advisor Eleanor Modesto, who retired from Lowe in March.

Lowe is understood to have been looking for an Asian expatriate with local experience. Tan, who is from Singapore, and has spent three-and-a-half years in Indonesia, matched the criteria.

During his time at Ogilvy, Tan oversaw a period of considerable new-business success, picking up the Japanese drink giant Pocari, Bank Indonesia International and Tango biscuits.
