The World: Jerusalem - Sex and the City ads banned for offending Jews

Posters advertising the film Sex and the City have been banned from two cities in Israel over claims that they are offensive to Orthodox Jews.

Officials in Jerusalem have slapped a ban on the ads along with those in Petah Tikva, which has a large Orthodox Jewish community. They claimed it was offensive to promote a film with the word "sex" in its title.

Earlier, a poster featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, one of the film's stars, in a skimpy dress had to be replaced by another in which she was covered up.
