The World: Johannesburg - Grey appoints Byrne as South African boss

Grey has appointed Tim Byrne as the chief executive of its South African operation.

He takes over from Ann Nurock, who has been appointed the president and chief executive of Grey Canada.

Previously the deputy managing director and head of planning for The Jupiter Drawing Room in Johannesburg, Byrne brought in new clients such as Business Connexion and Pearl Qatar.

Carolyn Carter, the president and chief executive of Grey EMEA, said: "Clients are looking to agencies for strategic leadership, big, bold creative ideas and spirited partnership - Tim delivers all three."
