The World: Lisbon - EuroNews to offer programmes via mobile phone

EuroNews has struck a deal with TMN, a subsidiary of the Portugal Telecom Group, to offer its programming via Portugal Telecom's mobile phone network.

The deal will enable anyone with a 3G handset to view local-language content 24 hours a day and will see the international business channel broadcast across all three Portuguese 3G networks.

Philippe Cayla, the chairman and chief executive of EuroNews, said in a statement: "EuroNews has been a great success in Portugal and I am pleased to announce that this country is the first where we have concluded an agreement with all the 3G mobile operators."
