The World: Madrid - Telefonica to sell minority stake in Endemol

Endemol, the production company behind Big Brother, is set for a stock market listing after its owner, Telefonica, announced plans to float a minority stake in the company.

Telefonica bought Endemol in 2000 for 5.5 billion euros. It plans a sale as early as the end of the year.

There has been widespread prediction Telefonica would sell part of Endemol following the ousting in December 2003 of Jon De Mol, Endemol's co-founder.
