World: Miami - Volkswagen awards $400m account to CP&B

Volkswagen has appointed Crispin Porter & Bogusky to its $400 million advertising account without a pitch. The business moves to the Miami-based agency from Arnold Worldwide in Boston.

As a result of the win, Crispin Porter & Bogusky has resigned the US Mini account, which it has held since 2001.

The VW appointment follows April's arrival of Kerri Martin as VW's director of marketing development. She was formerly the marketing communications manager at Mini.

The agency has also won the creative brief for Sprite following a two-way pitch against the incumbent, Ogilvy & Mather. The account is estimated to be worth around $45 million and the agency has been briefed to replace the "obey your thirst" strapline.
