The World: Mumbai - McCann wins lion's share of $7m GM business

McCann Erickson India has been handed the majority of the $7 million General Motors creative account.

The win means the agency will now spearhead the Indian launch of the Chevrolet Aveo next year.

It will also handle creative duties on the Chevrolet Optra, which was launched this year, while Rediffusion DY&R will look after the remainder of the car manufacturer's business.

The incumbent on the account was Enterprise Nexus and the pitch began in March this year when the agency's three-year contract came up for renewal.

The win marks a return to the GM roster for McCann India following a three-year hiatus.
