The World: New York - Agencies could do better, chief marketers claim

Chief marketing officers are less than impressed with their agencies, according to a survey conducted on behalf of the US marketing services company Epsilon.

Relatively few of them say their agency of record exceeds their expectations in terms of price, return on investment, client service and "knowledge of my business", the survey claims.

Higher numbers of CMOs said their agencies met expectations in these areas, although the survey said approval was well short of unanimous.

In the same poll, 31 per cent of CMOs said they would never outsource strategy and planning services, while 31 per cent said the same about customer relationship management.
